2018 International Workshop "Marwaris in Social and Cultural Spheres"
The workshop focuses on the Marwaris, migrant traders in South Asia. From 19th Century Rajputana up to modern India, the papers explore the historical, social, and cultural context where the Marwaris establish their presence and exercise their power. It is discussed how the Marwaris are represented by themselves and by others.
